Hexpol closes compounding plant in Canada

Malmö, Sweden - Hexpol AB, the Swedish polymer group, is accelerating its cost reduction programme with more job losses, temporary leave of absence's and the closure of its rubber compounding plant in Magog, Canada, the company said 13 March.
The measures taken during the first half of 2009 will save the company SEK 53 million (Euro 4.7 million), resulting in restructuring charges of SEK 98 million in the first quarter of 2009, Hexpol said.
The closure of the compounding plant in Canada is due to commence shortly, the company added.
