Continental and Leibniz Universität Hannover expand cooperation
ERJ staff report (RD)
Hanover, Germany - Continental AG and the Leibniz Universität Hannover are “systematically expanding their cooperation,†Continental said 25 March.
Continental manager and head of expert field material evaluation, Dr. Jorge Lacayo-Pineda has been appointed as an honorary professor of the university, the company said. Responsible for technical and scientific matters for all Continental laboratories at around 30 locations worldwide, Lacayo-Pineda represents the company in the committee of the European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA) and is a voting member of D11 Rubber committee, which sets global standards.
Continental AG and the Leibniz Universität Hannover are currently collaborating closely on seven research projects, the statement said.
“The university needs a connection to industrial practice,†said Lacayo-Pineda. “It is vital that students become familiar with the implementation of theory in industrial practice and to play an active role in its development. And that is just what Continental advocates as partner,†he continued. “In return, universities share their latest knowledge and findings, develop new ideas and methods, and provide a benchmark for the state of technology,†he added.
