FTR offers “zero-landfill” rubber recycling option

Port St. Lucie, Florida - Florida Tire Recycling Inc. is the first tyre recycling firm in the US to offer its customers a “100-percent zero-landfill” option for rubber recycling, the company said.

FTR is basing its claim on its recently unveiled Closed-Loop Product Lifecycle Solution, the company said. “By getting to zero landfilling, we are able to recover 100 percent of the components of a scrap tyre and manufacture them into sustainable, green and renewable raw materials with zero waste or by-products,” said Anthony Cialone, FTA chief operating officer.

FTR was founded in 1988, and claims to be the oldest and largest waste tyre recycler in the Southeast. The company processes more than 6 million scrap tyres annually, or about one out of every three generated in Florida every year, it said.
