Bridgestone on top in summer tyre tests

Bridgestone's Turanza ER300 tyre has come out on top in summer tests by German automotive magazines AutoBild and ADAC Motorwelt, the company announced 26 March.

The tyre received the top rating of “very recommendable”, and had “all-round balanced capability with excellent handling on wet and dry and very high safety-reserve in hydroplaning,” AutoBild said.

AutoBild tested the size 205/55 R16V on a VW Golf VI in wet and dry for handling, braking, skid pad, straight and corner hydroplaning, pass-by noise, rolling resistance and subjective comfort. The Turanza ER300 scored consistently in all areas and beats all 11 competitive brands in overall performance, the statement said.

Bridgestone's Potenza RE050A and Firestone TZ300a also received a “very recommendable” rating in the tests with ADAC Motorwelt saying the TZ300a was a “very well balanced tyre, good on wet.”
