Desma opens new plant in India
Rubber & Plastics News
Fridingen, Germany - Kloeckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH has expanded production of injection molding machines in India by opening a new plant.
The 5 200-sq.-ft. facility near Ahmedabad, India, started production on 3 March. The firm said its previous site, which could make more than 100 machines annually, wasn't large enough to meet demand.
Desma said the new building allows it to provide in India, besides mechanical engineering, a mold shop with adjacent engineering center for mold testing and optimisation, and a training center for customers and Desma staff qualification.
The company said about 80 percent of the machines it makes in India are sold domestically, with the remainder destined for other Asian markets.
