Barwell adds plant in China, restructures

Cambridge, UK -- Machinery maker, Barwell has restructured, and changed its name to Barwell Global. The company said the move will ensure the company, "remains competitive in the global marketplace, without compromising its longstanding reputation of high quality and service." The head-office will remain in Cambridge, UK, while an investment of $1.1m has been made in a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China, to dramatically reduce its overheads.
The company will keep design and development in the UK, while manufacture will take place in the new facility under the supervision of UK staff.
The investment in the new manufacturing facility is backed by the company's major shareholder, Dr Shieh, a successful Taiwanese businessman running a $ multi-million group of manufacturing, logistics and trading companies in China.

Barwell Global will focus on its core business of manufacturing and supplying market-leading gear-pump and standard performers, vibracools and cryogenic deflashing machines for the rubber and synthetic polymer industry.
