Myers Industries studies sale of automotive rubber units

Akron, Ohio -- Myers Industries, Inc. is considering the sale of four businesses -- Buckhorn Rubber Products, Michigan Rubber Products, Ameri-Kart, and WEK Industries. Myers said the idea is to to better align the businesses -- all of which lie in Myers' automotive and custom segment -- with the company's long-term performance and growth strategies.
Buckhorn Rubber Products manufactures 3-D blow moulded plastic, injection and compression moulded rubber original equipment and replacement parts to meet the specialised needs of the transportation, agricultural, and civil construction industries. Products range from air intake hoses, hood latches, anti-vibration mounts, gaskets, and more. The company also designs and produces a variety of performance-specific custom rubber products.
Myers said Michigan Rubber Products is a recognised leader in the design, development and manufacturing of high quality systems, assemblies and components containing rubber and plastic products. MRP's more than 400 products are manufactured using rubber extrusion and injection, compression, and transfer moulding.
WEK Industries produces engineered plastic blow moulded components for the automotive market and also the motorcycle and all-terrain vehicle markets. Ameri-Kart makes a range of custom rotationally moulded and vacuum formed plastic parts.
