ECHA launches REACH awarness campaign
ERJ staff report (RD)
Helsinki, Finland - At its second stakeholder day in Helsinki, the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) has launched an awareness campaign: “the clock is ticking - form your SIEF nowâ€, designed to urge companies into action to meet the first REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) deadline on 30 Nov 2010.
Over 570 representatives from 33 countries discussed the urgent need for companies to work together and share data in order to prepare joint dossiers for the registration of each chemical substance, the 29 May statement said.
The ECHA said the campaign will “promote examples of best practiceâ€, such as the so-called “lead registrantsâ€, who will receive support if they develop a registration dossier on behalf of all other companies who manufacture or import the same substance.
Two new web help sections - Help and SIEF - were also announced to provide easy access to technical documents and helpdesk support.
