Hoosier lays off a 'few' at Indiana plant
ERJ staff report (TB)
Plymouth, Indiana -- Hoosier Tire & Rubber Corp., citing reduced demand for racing tyres, has laid off “a few†workers at its factory in Plymouth, Indiana.
The company declined to say how many were laid off, calling it a “small work force adjustment.†Privately owned Hoosier does not disclose its overall employment.
A Hoosier spokesman said demand has dropped both domestically and internationally but didn't elaborate further.
Hoosier makes a range of racing tyres including for circle track racing (both asphalt and dirt), drag racing, road racing, go-karting and midgets.
