Kramer promoted to COO at Goodyear
ERJ staff report (DS)
Akron, Ohio -- Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has elected Richard Kramer chief operating officer of the company, reporting to Robert J. Keegan, chairman and chief executive officer. The new role is effective immediately and will be in addition to Kramer's current role as president of the company's North American Tire business until his successor is named. Goodyear has not previously had a COO. Kramer does not replace anyone in that  role.
Goodyear said it has already begun the search for someone to replace Kramer in his role as head of the  NAT unit. In his new role, Kramer will run the global operations of the corporation. Goodyear's business leaders will dual report to the COO and the CEO, and the functional leaders will continue to report to the CEO. Â
Kramer, 45, was born in Cleveland and is a 1986 graduate of John Carroll University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He joined Goodyear as vice president of corporate finance in 2000 after 13 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he served in a variety of roles in the United States and Europe. He was a partner with PwC when he joined Goodyear.
