Lanxess boosts R&D 10 percent
ERJ staff report (DS)
Leverkusen, Germany -- Lanxess AG said its R&D budget for 2009 is "euro 110 million, up 10 percent on 2008," said Werner Breuers, member of Lanxess' Board of Management. The company has also established a central innovation function at group level.
At the beginning of this year, the specialty chemicals group also created an independent “Innovation†group function for centralised coordination of its research and development activities. The roughly 30-strong team acts as an “innovation hub†for the development of production processes, new products and new applications.
The company said its rubber activities are well-represented at an Innovation Day, but declined to give further details.
