ExxonMobil introduces new elastomers
ERJ staff report (RD)
Houston, Texas - ExxonMobil Chemical has introduced three new grades of its Vistamaxx specialty elastomers, the company said 10 June.
ExxonMobil said the Vistamaxx line offers low seal initiation temperatures combined with high seal strength, ideal for use as a sealing layer in co-extruded structures.
Vistamaxx 3020FL, 3980FL, and 6102FL are easy to process and available as free-flowing pellets, the company said, adding that the low gel count of Vistamaxx 3020FL and 3980FL makes them perfectly suited to polymer modification applications.
“The addition of these grades to the Vistamaxx elastomer portfolio further increases the ability of compounders and converters to develop innovative solutions and tailor properties to better meet the needs of many applications,†said Lynell Maenza, specialty elastomers Asia Pacific market manager, ExxonMobil Chemical.
Typical applications include calendered or extruded sheet/profiles, extrusion coating, non-wovens and injection or blow moulded goods, the company added.
