New REACH guidance pages from EChA
ERJ staff report (DS)
Helsinki, Finland -- EChA, the European Chemicals Agency charged with implementing REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) legislation, said it has changed the area of its website dedicated to REACH guidance documents.
The page, which can be found in the Guidance section of the ECHA website, now consists of four sub-sections: Guidance Documents, Guidance in a nutshell, Fact Sheets, and Consultation Procedure.
The new Guidance in a nutshell sub-section is dedicated to a new series of shortened versions of the Guidance Documents, which ECHA is producing to make the corresponding REACH Guidance more accessible for industry. The first publication in the series, Guidance in a nutshell on requirements for substances in articles, will be published soon.
The Guidance Fact Sheets page has been moved from its previous location into the Guidance web pages.
The Consultation Procedure page provides information on the guidance process, with the aim to keep the process transparent and open to participation by relevant partners. If ECHA identifies a need for updating existing guidance or for developing new guidance, it will prepare a corresponding draft, potentially involving external experts. ECHA Partners will then be consulted and drafts of the different consultation steps will be made available on this web page, before ECHA finally publishes the revised or new guidance.
The Guidance Documents sub-section is unchanged and continues to hold the REACHGuidance Documents.
