IISRP picks ExxonMobil's Bruno Pary as new president

New York -- Bruno Pary of ExxonMobil Chemical is the new president of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers, and 12 other executives were elected to the association's Executive Committee for 2010.
Pary is senior adviser at ExxonMobil Middle East and Africa and will preside over the institute's Annual General Meeting next year in Dubai. He was elected during the group's 50th anniversary meeting in New York and succeeds Firestone Polymers President John Vincent, who became past-president international.
Pary joined ExxonMobil in 1978 as an elastomers commercial engineer in Paris, and then moved to Brussels where he has held a number of management positions. In 1995, he was appointed Europe, Middle East and Africa's general manager for ethylene elastomers, and in 2001 global manager for sales for specialty elastomers.
Named to the IISRP's executive committee were:
- Far East Section. Hiroshi Yoshida, Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corp., president; Ock Kee, Kum-ho Petrochemical, vice president; and Nobuyuki Takahashi, UBE Industries Ltd., standing member.
- European Section. Ralf Irmert, Dow Europe GmbH, president; Sim Elman, Synthos S.A., vice president; and Abraham Brink, Karbochem (Pty.) Ltd., standing member.
- Americas Section. Tim Gorman, ISP Elastomers, president; Felipe Varela, Industrias Negromex, vice president.
Continuing to serve on the Executive Committee are Vincent, Wei-Hu Tu of TSRC Corp. as treasurer, and James McGraw, IISRP managing director and CEO, assistant treasurer and secretary.
