GMT New Cooperation Partner in Malaysia
ERJ staff report (DS)
Schattdorf, Switzerland --Daetwyler Rubber has announced a partnership in Malaysia with GMT Gummi Metall Technik (M) Sdn. Bhd. in
Kuala Kangsar. Daetwyler said the new collaboration will further
strengthen its corner production and will
serve as a basis for continuing market activities in the region.
At the end of 2008 Daetwyler Rubber moved the required equipment and
products to GMT's new production buildings at Kuala Kangsar. The
production is already in operation.
Daetwyler aims to use the new production site
to serve other countries such as India and Arab nations. In spite of the
current recession, demand for infrastructure projects in these countries
remains strong. The company said demand for bored tunnels will
continue to grow, to handle increasing numbers of private vehicles, to
accommodate rapid-transit metros, and to supply drinking water and remove
sewage.
GMT, with head office in Bühl, Germany, was founded in 1968 and manufactures
components and systems in the fields of noise control and anti-vibration
technology for general engine and machine builders, the railway vehicle
industry, the aircraft industry, and the automobile industry. The GMT group
is active worldwide, based in Europe, Asia, and the USA. The subsidiary in
Malaysia was founded in 1980 und employs a staff of 120.
