Manfred Arning
ERJ staff report (DS)
Bremen, Germany -- Manfred Arning died suddenley on 14th June, aged 49 years.
Arning was born in Bremen, Germany on 31 October, 1959 and spent his childhood there. In the early '70s, he started his commercial training at machinery manufacturer Desma-Werke GmbH in Achim close to Bremen. At the end of his training he started within the Sales Department / Rubber Injection Machinery being responsible for the markets UK and Middle East. Later on, he took over the Sales Activities for the area Asia, United States, Africa and Australia, subsequently all English spoken parts of the world.
In 1994, Arning looked for a new challenge and started his employment with the Austrian plastic machinery manufacturer Engel in Schwertberg, to build up the Sales area of rubber machines.
After taking a personal decision to return to Bremen, he founded the company „Esitech“ to sell Silicone machines and moulds of company Fanuc. However, even during this time, he hasn't lost the contact to the rubber industry.
In 2004 Manfred Arning had a come back to the rubber industry being Sales Director of Rubber Machinery Manufacturer LWB Steinl. Since that time, he continuously built-up and intensified existing connections world-wide. The well-founded knowledge he gained due to his travelling around the world helped him and his team to be successful.
A personal note from David Shaw : I liked Manfred a lot. He was helpful, enthusiastic and an outstanding communicator. Having worked for three of the key injection moulding machinery manufacturers, he had a deep and comprehensive grasp of that business; the process and the benefits of all the different approaches to rubber moulding technology. The industry has lost a strong contributor and I shall personally miss his insights.
