VW honours Bridgestone with VW group award

Wolfsburg, Germany -- Bridgestone Corporation has been awarded the Volkswagen Group Award 2009 in recognition of its overall entrepreneurial performance as a premium supplier and business partner.

The prestigious award was presented by Dr. Francisco Javier Garcia Sanz, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, at a ceremony for selected premium suppliers at Volkswagen's “phaeno” Science Center in Wolfsburg, Germany, on 18th June 2009. The award was received by Mr. Y Ryuto, Vice President & Officer, Original Equipment Tire Sales, Bridgestone Corporation.

Bridgestone is singled out for its special entrepreneurial performance, reflected through constant reliability and sustainable partnership with the Volkswagen Group. The Award Certificate cites Bridgestone for its “flexible readiness to deliver and exemplary partnership approach which enables Volkswagen to respond quickly and competently to highly-fluctuating customer needs - and to do so at the highest possible standards of quality”.
