Cooper officially launches fuel-efficient tyres
ERJ staff report (DS)
Findlay, Ohio -- Cooper Tire & Rubber has officially launched its range of GFE (greater fuel efficiency) tyres in North America. The Cooper GFE is now available at dealers across the United States.
Cooper has dubbed its silica techology, 'Cooper Energy Return Technology (CERT)', which is describes as, "a new innovative tread stock that features a unique silica technology married with a specialized polymer to provide very low-rolling resistance, while maintaining outstanding wet grip and long tread life." THis sounds verysimilar to tyre treads which have been in common use in Europe for over a decade.
The new GFE features a 60,000-mile treadwear protection warranty, is covered under Cooper's standard warranty and carries a free 45-day road test.
