Tirex air-cooling technology to be used in Malaysian granulation plant
ERJ staff report (DS)
Westport, Connecticut -- An Italian licensee of Tirex Corp. is to supply a cryogenic rubber crumbing unit to a Malaysian tyre re-processing company.
The Tirex technology claims to be the first commercial tyre recycling system to freeze tyre rubber with cold air as opposed to using expensive liquid nitrogen.
Tirex licenses the technology to Italian company Simpro SpA, which has in turn signed a Memorandum of Understanding with with Enchantex Solutions of Malaysia. The memorandum represents a contract worth around $21 million (euro 15 million) and covers the manufacture, delivery, commissioning and warranties for a turnkey tyre recycling facility utilizing Tirex's patented, state of the art, tire recycling technology, the TCS System.
