Goodyear general counsel retiring
ERJ staff report (TB)
AKRON (July 29, 2009) - Goodyear's general counsel for the past 14 years, C. Thomas Harvie, plans to retire Oct. 31.
He will be succeeded by David Bialosky, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of TRW Automotive Holdings Corp.
Mr. Harvie, 66, joined Goodyear in 1995 and was elected senior vice president, general counsel and secretary in 1999.
Mr. Bialosky, 51, will join Goodyear in late September after serving in the general counsel post at TRW Automotive since 2002 and holding various other posts with TRW Inc. since 1989. He was instrumental in establishing the corporate law department for the newly created TRW Automotive after it was spun off in 2003, according to Goodyear.
“Dave's breadth of experience and his record of success at TRW indicate that he will be an important contributor to Goodyear's leadership team,†said Goodyear Chairman and CEO Robert Keegan. “We sought a successor who could contribute immediately and continue the strong and innovative leadership that Tom Harvie has provided throughout his career.â€
