Schaeffler seeking sale of rubber group - reports

Hanover, Germany -- Reuters is reporting an un-named executive board member of Continental saying, "Schaeffler [said] that the rubber division is not part of the core business, and that a sale of the division is an option,"

Continental has previously said only that selling the rubber unit is an option, but 90 days ago, said that a decision on the matter would have to be made by the end of July.
