Kumho in the red for 4th straight quarter

Seoul, South Korea -- Kumho Tire Co. Inc. reported a net loss of $76.5 million in the second quarter, the firm's fourth straight quarterly loss, as sales fell 23.7 percent to $364.6 million, according to preliminary figures released recently.
The firm also was in the red on an operating basis during the period ended June 30 at $35 million.
For the first half, Kumho was $161.4 million in the red on 15.2 percent lower sales of $741.4 million.
Kumho also posted losses in the third and fourth quarters of fiscal 2008.
Kumho did not comment on the results, posted on the firm's Web site.
