Malaysian NR production fell in June

Kuala Lumpur -- Malaysian production of NR in June 2009 amounted to 80,699 tonnes. This was 7.7 percent (6,717 tonnes) less than the month of June 2008, but 35 percent more than in May 2009.
Exports followed the same pattern, with the overall figure for June (57,685 tonnes), down by 22.9 percent (17,161 tonne) when compared to the same month in 2008, but up by 21.8 percent to 57,685 tonnes when compared with May 2009.
imports of NR rose strongly, to 76,684 tonnes. This represents an increase of 80.5 percent on the same month last year and an increase of 30.0 percent when compared to May 2009.
