Bridgestone taking forward Indian plant expansion

Tokyo -- Further to its 2007 announcement that it intends to expand its tyre plant in India, Bridgestone has now received approval from Indian authorities for a new tranche of land near to Pune

IIn its 2007 statement, Bridgestone said it would, "expand production capacity at its passenger car and light truck radial tyre plant in Indore, India, to meet burgeoning demand spurred by a booming domestic market."

The company declined to comment further.
