Tokai to close Japanese anti-vibration plant

Tokyo, Japan -- Tokai Rubber industry is to close its anti-vibration products factory in Okayama, Japan next March, with the loss of 110 jobs. The production will be consolidated at two other Japanese plants.
Tokai blamed the move on the global slowdown in automotive supply since last October.
The Okayama factory has a land area of around 16,434 m2 and generated sales of around yen 80 000 million (euro 590 million) in 2008. it makes rubber anti-vibration products for the automotive industry.
