Oerlikon publishes 'Fibre year' analysis

Pfaffikon, Switzeland -- Oerlikon, a Swiss producer of textiles and textile machinery has published the latest version of its 'Fibre Year' publication.
in the book, Oelikon says exports of industrial polyester (used primarily in tyres and other rubber goods) by China has boomed in recent years, jumping from minimal levels in 2004 to become the world's biggest exporter in 2007 with exports of around 120 000 tonnes and further up, to around 167 000 tones of exports in 2008. This export boom has been matched by growth in imports from China to the US, to Korea, Germany and other countries.
