Lanxess raises prices for CR, NBR
ERJ staff report (DS)
Leverkusen, Germany - Lanxess AG has increased its prices for
NBR (nitrile-butadiene rubber) and CR (chloroprene rubber) globally
effective September 1, 2009. Dependent on regions the price adjustment
per metric ton comprises up to EUR 190/USD 266 for NBR and up to
EUR 150/USD 210 for CR. This adjustment, said Lanxess, is unavoidable because the
costs for raw materials have risen significantly.
Marketed under the brand names Perbunan, Krynac and
Baymod N the rubber grade NBR is used for seals, hoses in hydraulic
and pneumatic applications or blankets for rolls. CR, which sells under the name Baypren, is appropiate to produce e.g. cable
sheathings, hoses, belts and air springs
