Do you have memories of Dunlop / BTR in the UK?
ERJ staff report (DS)
Birmingham, UK -- Dunlop Aircraft Tyres next year celebrates 100 years of aircraft tyre production - and it's looking for help to bring back memories of its history. The company intends to publish a book marking the event, which will contain stories for former workers at the plant. “Our book will be one of the focal points of our centenary celebrations,†said Dunlop Aircraft Tyres' chairman, Ian Edmondson.
“To make sure that we capture everything from our great history, we are looking for people to help with memories, information or contacts and photographs that we can include - either about the firm itself or its place historically within the larger Dunlop/BTR organisation.
“Indeed it is the personal memories that will bring this book to life and, as so many people have either worked for Dunlop themselves or have had a friend or family at the company, we are sure that there are lots of stories out there ready to be told.â€
Any pictures will be digitally scanned and returned to their owner.
Despite the rapid growth in the aviation marketplace, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres remains the world's only specialist aircraft tyre manufacturer and the company will expand further this year when it opens a new tyre distribution and retreading facility in China.
