Translogik and Goodyear Dunlop enter supply agreement
ERJ staff report (RD)
London - Translogik Limited, a provider of technology solutions for data capture and asset management and subsidiary of Transense Technologies plc, has entered into a supply agreement with Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK for its tyre tread depth and pressure, field inspection kit, a 25 Sep Transense statement said.
The system, which Goodyear will deploy as part of its new fleet management system, will provide "real-time" mobile data capture and transmission capabilities, the statement said, adding that, following the success of the recent pilot programme, a full UK launch will commence later this year, to be followed by a Europe wide deployment throughout 2010.
We've been piloting the Translogik mobile tyre inspection equipment in the UK and Europe for some time,†said Goodyear Sales Admin Support manager, Stuart Budden. According to Budden, fleet operators are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of good tyre management and he believes the new Goodyear system provides a new solution for this purpose.
“The Translogik tools provide us with robust, wireless Bluetooth electronic data capture hardware for use in all weather conditions. The reliability of information provided by this system due to its wireless capabilities, and consequent reduction in human errors, not only boosts productivity but ultimately works out more cost effective for operators,†Budden added.
“This is a major Europe-wide programme and demonstrates both the quality and market potential of our field inspection products,†said Laren Yeomans, sales director of Translogik.
