Arkema launches bio-sourced TPE materials
ERJ staff report (DS)
Paris -- Arkema has introduced Pebax Rnew100, a range of thermoplastic elastomers produced entirely from renewable raw materials, and based on Arkema's long-standing experience in castor oil chemistry.
Arkema said the Rnew100 range offers good mechanical properties, together with good resistance to thermal and ultra-violet ageing. Low weight and excellent dynamic behavior, hence excellent resistance to both flexural and tensile stress, also set this product apart, said the company.
Arkema said its Rnew range is based on 20 to 95% plant origin carbon, but Rnew100, is entirely derived from renewable resources.
