RRI tests recycled rubber in light truck tyres
ERJ staff report (DS)
Fort Lauderdale, Florida -- Magnum D'Or Resources, Inc. said it has supplied tyres to the Malaysian Rubber Research Institute" facility in Sungai Buloh for on-road testing, due to begin during this week.
The tyres use 20 percent content of Magnum's specialised compound based on recycled rubber. Initial drum tests, said the company, showed performance , "near identical" to the original equipment tyres.
Measurements will be taken by the RRI test lab personnel and then the truck is run on normal roads with a standard load and brought back for further measurements following a fixed protocol schedule based on distance travelled on the certified odometer. The measurements including abrasion / wear resistance among other parameters will be carefully tabulated throughout the life of the tyres (30,000km), the tyres changed out and the process repeated several times.
