Michelin will continue Green X Challenge in 2010

Greenville, South Carolina -- Michelin North America Inc. will continue its support of the Michelin Green X Challenge-an American Le Mans Series (ALMS) competition tied to fuel efficiency-during the 2010 ALMS season.

The “race within the race” finished its inaugural season Oct. 10 with the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. At the end of the season, Acura took home the first Green X Challenge championship in the prototype class while Porsche earned the championship in the GT class.

“We have exceeded all of our initial expectations and expect to further build and grow the Michelin Green X Challenge in our second season,” said Silvia Mammone, motorsports manager for the Greenville-based tyre maker.
