Dunlop partners with BMW Motorsport

Birmingham, UK -- Dunlop is a new Technical Partner of BMW Motorsport. As part of the exclusive, long-term partnership, the company will provide tyres, manufactured at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham, for the BMW M3 GT2, which is currently in action in the American Le Mans Series, and further develop the GT sports car. Furthermore, Dunlop will also supply tyres to BMW customer racing cars, such as the BMW M3 GT4.
The company has been involved in racing since the start of the 20th century. After initial high-speed records, Dunlop celebrated its first triumph at the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1924 and is the most successful tyre manufacturer with 34 wins at the race. In 2007 and 2008 Dunlop tyres were used by the championship winning GT2 team in the Le Mans Endurance Series. Dunlop tyres are also proven in the DTM Championship and in Touring Car racing around the world, where Dunlop has enjoyed considerable success with BMW teams and drivers.
This is Dunlop's first patnership with BMW. The brand currently partners with Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Subaru.
