ERJ staff report (DS)
London -- Peter Taylor, the secretary general of the Tyre Recovery Association and director of the Imported Tyre Manufacturer's Association, received his OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, 15th October. The award was presented by Her Majesty The Queen.
Peter received the award for services to the tyre industry and for his contribution to the tyre industry's pioneering work in developing a tyre recovery and recycling programme.
In addition to his work in the area of scrap tyre recovery, Peter has also worked tirelessly to raise the awareness of the importance of tyre safety. For many years he was secretary of the Tyre Industry Council, now TyreSafe, instigating tyre safety campaigns across the UK which helped to reduce considerably the number of illegal and dangerous tyres on Britain's roads.
