Goodyear to close US retread plant this year

Spartanburg, South Carolina -- Goodyear has told employees that it intends to close its retread and compounding unit at Spartanbug, South Carolina by the end of the year, according to local press reports quoting a Goodyear spokeswoman The move will affect 90 employees. The plant produces retread material for commercial truck and aircraft retread applications.
Goodyear reportedly said the work will be consolidated with other Goodyear facilities
