Bridgestone contributes to Indonesian earthquake relief efforts

Tokyo - Bridgestone Corp. is donating a total of Yen 4.5 million (Euro 33 000) to support relief efforts for victims of the 30 Sept earthquake which occurred offshore Padang in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
Bridgestone Corp. has donated Yen 2 million, whilst P.T. Bridgestone Tire Indonesia donated around Yen 2.5 million. The contributions were made through through KOMPAS, Indonesia's prestigious newspaper, Palang Merah Indonesia - a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the government of the province of West Java, a 28 Oct Bridgestone statement said.
Bridgestone established BSIN as an operating company over 30 years ago. The company also has rubber estates in two locations in Indonesia, the statement added. (RD)
