Tokai reports a loss for three months, expects profit for full year
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- Tokai Rubber Industries has reported substantially lower sales for the three months ended September 2009. Sales for the period amounted to Yen 100,126 million (euro 748 million), down from yen 155,695 million a year ago.
The reduced sales put the company into negative profit, with an operating loss of Yen 258 million compared to a profit of yen 9441 million a year ago.
The company issued a revised forecast for the full year, updating the six-month figures issued earlier this week. Tokai now says it expects to report a profit of yen 1500 million for the 12 months to March 2010, based on sales of yen 215 000 million.
