Paris -- Michelin has linked with French company Babolat to create the world's first purpose-designed badminton shoe. The new shoe is a development of their jointly-developed tennis shoe.
There are currently 140,000 licensed badminton players in France and over 100 million worldwide. An Olympic discipline since 1992, badminton traces its origins to 18th century Latin America. It is the most popular sport in French schools.
