Apollo-brand tyres to be on sale in Europe next year

New Delhi - Apollo is expecting to sell Apollo-branded tyres into Europe from 2010.

The Hindu business Line quoted Neeraj Kanwar, Vice- Chairman and Managing Director, Apollo Tyres, saying the company would start exporting Apollo branded tyres to Europe from India by early next year.

A spokeswoman for Apollo confirmed that these plans are being developed, but gave no details. She said, "Plans are still on the drawing board. We will do this, but surely and in a well-planned manner."

It was not clear if these were truck or car tyres, but the report said distribution would be done through existing channels operated by Apollo's car tyre subsidiary, Vredestein Banded BV.
