Goodyear Fuel Max gets Prius OE fitment
ERJ staff report (TB)
Akron, Ohio -- Toyota Motor North America Inc. has added Goodyear's Assurance Fuel Max as a standard OE fitment on the 2010 Prius hybrid alongside the Bridgestone Ecopia EP 2000.
The standard fitment is P195/65R15.
Earlier, Toyota picked the all-season Toyo Proxes A20, size P215/45R17 87V, as OE on the premium V model.
Toyota builds the Prius hybrid in Japan.
The third-generation Prius is rated at a combined 50 miles per gallon by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Toyota's selection of the Fuel Max as a standard tire for the 2010 Prius follows earlier decisions by Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co. to put the tire on its 2010 Ford Fusion S and 2011 Chevrolet Volt-the latter exclusively, Goodyear said.
