Clairoix to close: consultation process is completed

Hanover, Germany -- The consultation phase with the employees' representatives of Continental France SNC regarding the planned closure of Continental`s Passenger and Light Truck Tire plant at Clairoix, France, is formally finished.
The social plan for the 1,120 employees includes many measures negotiated with the unions and now approved by the central works council of Continental France as well as the works council of the Clairoix production site. The social plan is expected to be implemented at of the beginning of the year 2010. “We will now do our best in order to help and support as many employees as possible to find a new job in a timely manner “, said Nikolai Setzer who is in charge of Continental`s PLT Tire Division.
