Tokai sets up AVS unit in India

Tokyo -- Tokai Rubber Industries Ltd. has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in India to make and sell rubber anti-vibration components for the local vehicle industry.
The company has been named Tokai Rubber Auto-Parts India Private, Ltd and is expected to be on stream toward the end of 2010, employing around 20 people. Tokai said it hopes to generate Rs 2300 million (Euro 32.9 million) in sales from the unit during fiancial year 2011.
The new facility will operate from a 1300 m2 building in a 6800 m2 plot of land in Industrial Park, Karnataka Dodaparapuru, close to Bangalore. Tokai said the operation is capitalised at Rs 1000 million (euro 14.3 million).
This will be Tokai's tenth AVS plant in seven countries. Tokai currently makes rubber hoses in INdia through Tokai Imperial Rubber India, established in 2005.
