Global carbon black industry studied
ERJ staff report (DS)
Dublin, Ireland -- Bizacumen has published a new report titled, Carbon Black - A World Market Review . The 116-page report was first published in November 2009 and is available for a price of around Euro 2000, depending on delivery options.
The publishers say, "Demand for carbon black is driven mainly by the steady expansion of the global rubber market. Most of the demand for carbon black arises from tyres as compared to non-tyre rubber products. However, the virgin carbon black industry is likely to come under increased pressure from governments and environmental groups, as this product is a significant greenhouse gas emitter. Another major issue is the emergence of silica and other silanes as major substitutes to carbon black due to better performance and environmental friendly nature. These products reduce rolling resistance in tyres and at the same time improve fuel efficiency. As a result, these products are increasingly finding usage in tyres market."
