French minister describes Elastopôle as exemplary

Orléans, France -- During the annual meeting of the French elastomer competitiveness project, Elastopôle, the French minister for commerce described its activities as exemplary.
Herve Novelli, French Secretary of State for Commerce, small enterprises and tourism reviewed progress in the 18 months since he signed the documents which gave birth to the Elastopôle project.
He noted that the unit has given rise to 20 active projects worth around euro 52 million, including optimisation of vulcanisation, use of recyclate in rubber compounds, fatigue and ageing in elastoemrs and the Polydam project which aims to analyse and predict performance of rubber components in extreme conditions.
For 2009 - 2011 Elastopôle to continue this work and to develop further ties with other R&D centres in related areas, to improve its international scope and to establish a scientific council to guide its activities.
