US to review toxicological impact of chloroprene
ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC -- The US-based Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has ordered a Toxicological Review of Chloroprene and will hold a meeting on 6 January, 2010 for that purpose.
The review workshop will begin on January 6, 2010, at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. It will be held at Marriott Courtyard Arlington Crystal City/Reagan National Airport in Arlington, Virginia.
EPA is conducting a peer review of the scientific basis supporting the human health hazard and dose-response assessment of chloroprene that will appear on the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) database.
The draft Toxicological Review of chloroprene provides scientific support and rationale for the hazard and dose-response assessment pertaining to chronic exposure to chloroprene. Chloroprene (C4H5Cl) is a volatile, flammable liquid used primarily in the manufacture of polychloroprene or neoprene rubber.
EPA contractor, Versar, Inc., is organizing, convening, and conducting the peer-review workshop. To attend the workshop, register by December 30, 2009 through the link below.
