CMAI completes 2010 butadiene analysis
ERJ staff report (DS)
Houston, Texas -- CMAI has published a new report titled, 2010 World Butadiene Analysis, an annual global study that covers past and future developments in supply, demand, production, capacity, trade, pricing and profitability of the global Butadiene industry for the period 2004 to 2014. Included with each analysis is 12 months access to CMAI's online capacity and supply/demand databases with a mid-term supply/demand update incorporating the latest economic and market outlook.
CMAI's latest Butadiene Analysis reveals global butadiene markets have shifted substantially since the beginning of this decade; in fact, the past 18 months have been quite dramatic. Markets have alternated between extremely tight and long supply/demand conditions within just a few months. The recent global recession caused demand to drop in the major regions back to levels not seen in a number of years. On a global basis, CMAI expects butadiene demand in 2009 to remain below the 2004 level.
Over the forecast period, the C4 olefins and derivative markets are expected to experience a continuation of the pronounced market changes that have characterized much of the past five years. Globally, trade patterns for butadiene and related products will continue to shift as production of end-use products will be relocated to developing countries. The availability of crude C4 feedstock will remain the limiting factor for North American butadiene production and will become a limiting factor in Asia.
An annual subscription costs around $10 000.
