Ahrensburg, Germany - Basler AG said it has sold the Optical Media business of Basler AG as of December 07, 2009 to Xiris Automation of Ontario, Canada. The unit makes CDs and DVDs.
Discarding this business, said the company, allows Basler to focus on its Basler Vision Technologies business, which offers with camera systems for Industrial and Security Use, and has a strong business in the rubber industry.
Basler retains the Vision Technologies activity, which develops, produces and distributes digital cameras for applications in industry, medicine, traffic, and video surveillance, and Surface Inspection for the flat panel, solar and rubber/elastomer industries.
