ERJ staff report (DS)
Charlotte, North Carolina -- US distribution company Polytive International has introduced an additive which it claims can improve the coupling between various types of rubber and silica.
The material, known as PUCA 35R is a polyurethane-modified titanate and is said to be cost-effective when compared with conventional silane coupling agents. It is made by Industrial Products Manufacturing Company, based in Pune in India.
Polytive said the additive can be used as a complete or partial substitute for other silanes and claims it works with natural rubber as well as synthetic elastomers.
