Apollo and Vredestein - each has a lot to offer
By David Shaw, ERJ staff
Geneva,
Switzerland -- Rob Oudshoorn , managing director of Vredestein Banden said that
Vredestein has a lot to offer to the Apollo group, and has much to learn from
the company.
He said
that in the year or so since Apollo bought the Dutch company, the two have been
developing strategies for sales in Europe and elsewhere and for manufacturing. He did not expect Apollo to build a new
factory in Europe in the short term, but did expect significant modernisation and
expansion at Vredestein's plant in Enschede, Netherlands and in Apollo's factories in
Southern Africa to meet short term capacity issues.
The senior
managers from Apollo are expected to visit the Geneva show later this
afternoon.
