Pirelli introduces “green†SUV tyre

Barcelona, Spain - Pirelli has introduced the Scorpion Verde: a new “high-performance eco-friendly tyre for SUVs and Crossovers,†the company said 18 March.
Unveiled at the Idiada International Testing circuit in Barcelona, the new tyre uses new materials and a new structure which guarantees staedy performance throughout the tyre's life, gives out lower noxious emissions, reduces noise, gives good running economy and shorter breaking distances, the Pirelli statement said.
Made entirely from aromatic oil-free materials, the Scorpion Verde offers up to 3.9 percent fuel saving for city driving, lowers acoustic emissions by one decibel, or a total noise eduction of 30 percent, and gives 20 percent lower rolling resistance.
Scorpion Verde is the latest addition to Pirelli's “Green Performance†eco-friendly tyres, inaugurated in 2008 with the company's P4 and P6 Cinturato tyres.
